Hi all, I've just bought a new Wii and want to add a modchip with no soldering. The serial number starts LEH2041 and understand that I may have the new D2C2 processor but not sure, it could still be the D2C looking at various websites. Does this make a difference? Which is the best way to mod my machine? Best place to get this from? Any advice would be welcome as new to the Wii. fedup with my modded PSP now!

This may be perfect for you.
Take a look at This
1.The D2pro9 support D2C and D2C2.
2.Comes with V4C wiichip, so all you have to do is attach it to your wii drive. No soldering.
3.You need a Triwing Screwdriver to open your wii. And is comes here.

Thats great, thanks for advice. I also read that only certain drives read Wii DVD's so how is the best way to "backup" these?

Not sure if the D2Pro supports it, but I know Wiikey does:

There's a dump utility to dump a game to the wii's sd card slot in peices. It takes a bit of time, but finding the drives that can read wii dvd's is difficult and costly.
