URGENT - i got video problem

ive got a couple of videos, they all have 1 problem. the video isnt in line with the audio. is there any way i can fix this? is there a way i can get both, video and audio to be together, a friend suggested using virtual dub. i have downloaded and open the video file in virtual dub but dont know how to fix this issue. can anyone help?

If the async is constant, it may be easier with Avidemux instead of VirtualDub.
Drag or load the file into Avidemux.
If you estimate that the audio is ½ second (500 m/S) behind the video, click 'Shift' and insert -500 (minus 500).
Click 'Save' and give the file a new name (including the extension) e.g. new.avi
If you want, you can use the 'slider' and the A/B markers to select a small portion to test before changing a large file.

the audio plays too early before the video. i just dont know how to use this bloody editor. its too complicated.
