hello, well i used the threads to help me get the .mdf and .mds file. i tried mounting it using demon tools so i wouldn't have to use a c.d to play the game . ( the game was my brothers and cant keep borrowing it from him) once i mount the installation pops up. i install , but once i want to play the actual game it ask for a c.d. by the way the game is final fantasy 8. ( jusst incase that has something to do with it)

my question is, is there a reason for it asking for a c.d. from my understanding the game should have just played regular if i have it mounted on demon tools right?

second question, how would i back up the game on a c.d.? do i have to turn the .mds and .mdf files into iso? how would i do that?
onya

Burning the same file to disc will result in much the same. There are a few ways of backing up the game, and my personal choice is Alcohol 120%. It has a trial version that will see you through a few games. Their website has detailed info on what games have what encryption/protection and the settings needed. It has it's own burn software inclusive and virtual drive app, so you don't need any other (imho). In short, it's worth the bucks and i again personally wouldn't bother with the files you have at present. Start from fresh.
