scratches on backup discs?

Hi

Just chipped my wii recently and I've been noticing that a lot of scratches have been appearing on my backup discs. It doesn't look like there are scratches to my genuine discs. Is this a common occurence to anyone? I mention this because I have had (rare) lockups while playing backup games.

I went on vacation, and took my wii and some backups. Most of the backups I took were from 2006. And my wii couldn't read them. There were a ton of small scratches all over the disc. When I got home, I reburned my 2006 backups.

The discs that nintendo uses are better. I assume that their discs haves some protection to keep it from scratching.

But yes, this happens. Just reburn it. Use a good brand of DVDs like Verbatim.
