Hey Everyone,

I have a US Wii with a D2Pro9 chip installed. I ripped several of my games using my PC's GDR-8164B drive and it worked great. I then burned the ISO image using Verbatim DVD-R discs at 4x with ImgBurn. Here's my problem, the games only work about half the time. Sometimes they fire right up and play flawlessly. However, other times they do not load and I get the black screen asking me to eject and shut down. What could be the problem here? All of my non-backups work fine, and I have a couple other backups on Verbatim DVD+Rs from a friend that have always worked. Is it just a media problem? I would appreciate any and all advice. Thanks!

Well it sounds like your problem is definately the backup disc you are trying to play. Verbatim is a very good brand and I've had no problems with using their dvd-r's in the past. Have not tried dvd+r's tho.
I use Imgburn also and it works flawlessly for me and is idiotproof, nearly impossible to stuff up.

My guess would be your ripping method is whats causing the problem.
Or maybe even a fault in your dvd writer....

It was totally the media I was using. I bought some Verbatim DVD+Rs, and they work flawlessly. However, the Verbatim DVD-Rs I have only work half the time. Weird. Anyway, that was it. Thanks for everyone's help!

I'm having the same problem. I have a D2PRO 9 v2 on a wiiclip and lately it keeps telling me system read error with games that worked perfectly before. I'm using verbatim DVD+R burned at 4x so I really doubt that's the problem. Although the one game which hasn't showed me this error was brawl, which was burned on a different media...

I just tried unplugging the wii and it started working! For a while. Then got the error again. Any advise?

Nintendo keeps getting me with every zelda. Bastards. I HATE MARIO
