I tried to go directly from AnyDVD to Clone DVD, but it shows only 51% quality.
I am trying to use DVD Shrink. After "Open Disc" it gets to 48% Analysis and then gives me an error message "Cyclic Redundancy Check". Any help on how to get around this?
I don't use Clone DVD but it won't be able to perform any magic with 51% quality discs (plus Planet Earth needs to be done properly to appreciate the content). I used DVD Rebuilder for all my Planet Earth dvd's, most of which turned out very well indeed. Programs such as Shrink, Clone DVD etc are transcoders whereas Rebuilder in an encoder. Rebuilder almost performs miracles compared to other products.
As to the ripping question, i honestly can't remember how i ripped mine but i'm pretty sure i used DVDFab so that's what i recommend. The CRC error you have is probably just a damaged or scratched disc. Mine was a brand new boxed set that i bought for my kids and the backup copy was for myself.
1. Make sure your Discs are Clean and free from scratches.
2. Try Ripping with DvdFab decrypter.
3. Do Not Multi-task.
4. Use High quality Media. (Verbatums or Tys)
I Don't know if you Stiil Have to turn ANYDVD off when you Use DvdFab to rip the Movie, You Used to. I would turn it off anyway.
Not the wrong site. I gave that site to give the option of Free Full Trial or The Totally Free Limited Version. http://www.dvdidle.com Links to http://dvdfab.com/free.htm (Six of one, half dozen of the other)
But Thanks for clarifing turning ANYDVD off While Using DvdFab. Really What Program you use is Usually a Personal Pref.
@ Berryone
You are correct. At the bottom of the page there is a link that says, Free Stuff. If you select that link then you are taken to the page I linked to.

If you right click the little fox head of AnyDVD you will see an option that says, Rip Video DVD to Harddisk...
I know that VobBlanker may seem a little confusing at first, but after you use it a couple of times you will get quick at using it. Remove all trailers, previews, blank cells, FBI warnings, etc. This will reduce the size of the movie.
Even though creaky and I suggest using DVD Rebuilder, and there is a free version of it, you really won't see the results that we see without an encoder such as CCE. Go ahead and open the movie in Shrink again and see what the output quality is. You want it to be a minimum of 70% for nice playback.

i used CCE for all my Attenborough stuff if i remember correctly, though nowadays i only use the (free) and awesome HC encoder which is at version 0.23 now.
