ripping ps2 games on linux?

I don't know if this is the right section for this but is there a way rip ps2 games so that I can burn them.

If someone can help I'd really appreciate

As yet never tried it with linux but in windows you can use the free imgeburn to create an iso then use the same program to burn it,however my ps2 is modchipped so i don't know if a rip with alcohol would be necessary first,if the ps2 can run RW media then test run with that assuming it's able too as not all modchips can,can't comment on softmods,you could try creating an iso in linux from the disk & burn it & see what happens

k3b seems to do an ok job most of the time in "clone" mode.... otherwise tools like cdrecord or dd from the command line if you want/need to rip subchannel data. Linux ripping/burning guides explain all in detail.

can linux do xbox as well if you have the samsung drive or is it strictly windows

How do you mean?.. with that skank kreon thing? Wouldn't know because you obviously have a modded xbox so what is the point of buying an expensive drive and then going to all the hassle?

ExtractXiso for linux works fine.. so yeah.. you can, but I don't know about the kreon shit because in my world that's what it is.. pointless ripoff marketing.

360.. dunno.. don't have one.. don't want one and never getting one.

Best way of doing original xbox I found was to have the xbox do the hard work itself. Just use dvd2xbox to dump to the hard drive then FTP it off of there. Or just leave it on the hard drive if you have upgraded it. Using dvd2xbox also applies some patches on the fly for some uncooperative games I believe.

For the 360, I don't have one either, but I am absolutely certain it is possible under Linux. Whether someone has created a tool to do it for you is another question entirely... :P

It is a time limited (up to 240 days) evaluation of WS2K8, just stick it on a spare HDD so it doesn't bork your MBR.

I was going to provide more information then thought why should I give away my knowledge for nothing. Enough of my work has been stolen by children in console world over the years............ You can rip and burn 360 games with linux... you just need to work a few things out by reading up on iso modification and file patching on the fly..
