Excuse my newbness if this is in the wrong place. I have used dvd43 with 1 click dvd copy for about a year and a half now with no problems whatsoever. Since the newest version of dvd43 has come out I haven't been able to do anything. It is installed correctly with the yellow face on the browser bar, but under no circumstances will it turn devilish> green. I just stands idle not recognizing any dvd's at all.

I've done as much research and troubleshooting as I possibly can and am at a stand still. Any advice at all?

IMO, ditch dvd43 and get DVDFab HD Decryptor. Its free and is updated often. Dvd43 is not worth the effort.

To add to Brother ferguj1 advice:

dvdfab HD Decrypter (free) to rip

fixvts (free) to 'tweak' the results

dvd shrink (free) to transcode

imgburn (free) to burn

Can't go worng with the process laid out here.

Great advice has been given here.

The programs listed by my bros above will render better results than the always troublesome Dvd43. You're better off without that program on your pc.

I've been running the same configuration as DdsRock (Newbie).
I've backed up many of my child's dvd and has never missed a beat. I've started backing up my Music DVD and wife's 'tear-jerk' movies as well. in short I've backed up over 100 DVD's and not missed one..."yet"

Uninstall the program (DVD43) and then run a registry cleaning program. Re- download DVD43 in case the your current file is corrupt. reinstall DVD43.

If this doesn't work for you. You'd need to turn off processes that are running in the background until it starts. And if this doesn't fix it and I understand you being comfortable with your current set-up. Take fergu1 advise and use a different program. try DVD Shrink.

Hope this gives you some idea's to work with.

I am glad that DVD43 has worked well for you and that is good advice on uninstalling and running the registry cleaner. However, DVD Shrink has not been nor will it be updated, so it will have a hard time or even not work on the newer releases. The process and programs that rtm27 laid out is one of the best approaches going.

Thank you ferguj1, I agree with you.

DdsRock (Newbie), If all else fails do as per ferguj1 advise to rtm27 instructions. Once you become familiar with these new (for you) programs they'll be second nature to use.

Good luck DdsRock

I have personally backed up hundreds of dvd's utilizing the method outlined by RTM. That was before i bought DvdFab Platinum.

'Tis good and solid advice.

Dvd43 is cumbersome and conflicts with other programs.
