Home music system for MP3's etc?

Hi,

I am looking to build a home music system to play my MP3s. I have them on a homeserver and I'm kind of hoping to be able to play them directly from there. I am not overly concerned about the sound quality. At the moment I am using a 10-15 years old Panasonic minitower SA-CH34 and I don't need any better quality. Besides I am talking abot MP3s not FLACs, so the quality is already not too great. Although, I do want better than standard PC-speaker sets.

So far what I've thought would be something very simple:

Asus eee 700/900 that accesses the server over WLAN and is linked to an amplifier that plays the music.

I'd prefer this to be a wireless system. I do have a WLAN already available so getting the music to AsusEEE wouldn't be a problem, but how do I transfer the music wirelesly to the amplifier?

Any ideas on this? Some kind of WLAN receiver with connections for audio? I think Apple has something like that available.

Of course if you have some other viable suggestions, I all open for them too.
