How do I play downloaded games off the psp's memory stick?

Hi all :) thanks in advance for any help you can offer me.

Please use simple language and treat me like a complete noob, cuz that's what I am.

So, I have an orignal fat psp, it's running version 3.73 and I've never done anything to it except stick an official UMD in it and play. So it's completely unmodified.

Please can you tell me how to play games I've downloaded onto my memory stick? They seem to be in .cso format, whatever that is.

You need custom firmware 1st - see this guide:
