First of all, I hope you guys don't flame me. I'm just an unexprienced PS2 user and I'm trying to make an educated decision based on feedback from experienced users. So here it goes:

I have PS2 model SCPH-75001. This unit is the slim model (black) with a flip top cover for the cd/dvd (this flip top cover is the original cover that comes with the unit). According to my research this model is version 14 NTSC.

I've been browsing around and trying to make up mind as to what set of swap magic discs will suit my unit the best. Naturally, the websites selling this product offer a number of sets of swap magic discs, and it seems that you have to pick the set/combo that matches your unit's model&version. My confusion arises because there is a set that sells the the discs only. Another set includes the discs + magic card. And another set includes the disccs+magic card+swap tool. And another set includes the discs+magic key+swap tools+card. Obviously, as my research progressed, I realized that each thing serves a different purpose for the swapping process.

My guess is that since my unit comes with a flip top cover, I don't need a set that includes a flip top cover for modding, am I right?

So, in short, what combo/set of swap magic discs is the one I need for my unit? Do I have to mess with the PS2's sensors as some guys out there suggest?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You need the SM disk, and someway of swaping out the disk by covering the sensors. There are two switches...three if u could the disk spin stopper thing. version numbers doesnt matter too much when it comes with swap magic. its either a slim or fat is what u are worried about. post the url of what site this is u r looking at.

there are flip top covers but they are different from original, u take ur ps2 slim apart and replaces it, the plasic hits the all the sensors so the ps2 think that the cover is always closed.

There are the magic keys that are alimium pieces that u wedge in places that hits all three switch.

There are other products that does what the magic key do. You also could be able to not buy a flip top and open it up to tape the two sensors up. or u could use straws n now open the system up. look up ps2 tape and tissue (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/256226)or straws n tape or somethin.

Well, im off to read some garfield comic.
