Hello All!

I have a little problem. I have a few VOBs on my hardrive that I want to burn to DVD. Somehow, being a newbie, i deleted the other files that go along with these VOBs. I would rerip the DVD, but it doesn't seem to be cooperating (scratches I'm guessing).I want to create all the necessary files I need to make a DVD compliant structure. Is there a way to do this. I've heard about VOBedit, Vobarator and IFOedit, but I have no idea in which order I would use these or even if I should use them. Could one of the DVD burning guru's out there give me some advice (Cough!Scubapete!Ahem)?
Much appreciated.

I too seem to have misplaced some needed IFOs & BUPs and need to replace them. I have tried IFOEdit v.96 and v.95, but neither one writes the files. It goes through the motions but doesn't deliver. I've searched the archives here, but there isn't much info available. I would presume this dosn't happen all that often.

Any help out there?

Hiya All,

There is a solution for you guys.

Read this thread (you join it on page 2) from approx 6th post down (my first post, where I take over from ScubaPete):
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2/73816

If you follow the instructions I gave in that thread, you will be able to rebuild the DVD Structure from the VOBs, all nice and ready for burning....

Have Fun...

Hey Doc,

Thanks for the quick response and direction. I get to the point after "Create IFOs" is 'complete', but there's an error box indicating "Error open file, are they perhaps write-protected?" No, they're not write protected. When I click the box, the Video_TS.ifo appears in the top pane. Another error box appears and I click it. Now the VTS_01_0.ifo appears below the other file and the error boxes are gone.

I highlight the bottom file (as instructed) and a lot of stuff appears in the lower window. When I click on "Get VTS sectors", nothing happens.

Does IFOEdit work on WINXP?

Any other clues? Thanks.

Hiya,

SOME people have reported SOME problems with IFOEdit under XP, but I have yet to be able to replicate the problems (it has always worked for me whenever I have done it).

It worked perfectly for the person in the thread I referenced (and many other threads), he was using XP.

The message you recieved indicates that a file IFOEdit was trying to access WAS ALREADY OPENED by another program (DVD software? Media Player? etc..)

Best a re-boot and try again BEFORE running anything else (remember to delete ALL IFO and BUP files first).

Have Fun...

Doc,

Thanks. I tried IFOEdit on a different fileset and it worked as advertised. The other files I was trying to IFOEdit were apparently corrupted. EOT....
