What is the best way so I can play backups of all PS2 games?

I am going to buy a used original PS2 very soon and I am going to buy a HDD and a network adapter for it. My plan with that is to put all the backups that work on the HDD on the HDD, and anything that can't will be burnt onto DVDs.

So my question is this. Is it worth it to get a mod chip for the HDD, or does the modchip not do much for the HDD? Without the modchip about how much percentage wise of the games will I be able to play, how about with the modchip? About how much of the games, percentage wise, will I be able to play without the modchip on the HDD, how about with the mod chip?

Seeing your getting a FAT PS2 with a hdd and network adaptor.
The best way is if you have a PS1 game to make an exploit and install it your ps2.

once that is installed you can then install the new fmcb 1.6

Then you can use ESR r9a to play your backups that are patched with a disc patcher for ESR. It will play most anything so far.

To install hdd games to hdd from pc, use Winhiip 1.7.6

You then use hdloader.elf to play games off the hdd.

But if you don't want to do any of that you can get a modchip.

It will make no difference to playing games off the hdd if you have a modchip or not.
So in my opinion installing fmcb is way better and cheaper.
