Can i ask you a question.

Did your camera or the laptop go through a security scanner at the airport..

The reason i ask is i came back from disneyland and both of my cameras went through security at the john wayne airport and one of my cards won't read at all.

So most likely your images are garbage and recovering them might be next to impossible this is why they recommend you remove your memory cards from the scanners they can do damage.

Search google for sd card recover for windows.

This should give you a starting point but be farwarned there is a chance you won't be able to get your pictures back.

ddp does it again! nice links!

I just want to add that I never heard of a security scanner erasing a memory card or disabling it. I have been through 7 flights this year back and forth from Ft Lauderdale to NY to catch Yankee games. I always take my cameras with cards, in the camera and out, and they always get scanned by the security scanners! It's unavoidable. All my cards are fine.

Susieqbbb...... how do you get past the security scanners at an airport? they scan the bags and you walk through their security scanner at all airports. Why is this the first time I'm hearing about this? I'm sure if it was really a big problem it would have been posted all over the place!!!! right?

Yes I did put them through the scanner in Atlanta and LAX but I think the problem happened with my laptop when the card went into it.

Anyway, I downloaded some software, ran a check on it and saw the pictures recovered ~(small) and then paid for the software and now have recovered all thh pics from the card. It cost $39 (?29) plus tax and it can be downloaded from http://www.cardrecovery.com/
Thanks

cool!!

I went to disneyland and asked them not to scan my cards through there scanners at the john wayne airport all i had to do was to prove the cards where cards and i hate to burst a security agents bubble but a sd card cannot hold a bomb.
