I would like to buy a quality player that would replace it so I can play my COPIED movies in addition.

Sound quality & picture is primary.

Anyone compare the Pioneer Elites to the Sony ES 999? I can get an Elite for $345 and an ES for $725. Is the sound quality of the Sony worth the 2x difference?

The Faroudja player has spoiled me with its high definition of sound presentation. Its picture is slightly better than these others.
