I have a fat PSP with 3.40 OA-E that I haven't used in forever. How would I go about upgrading to the official firmware 4.05? I placed the 4.05 OFW in the PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder and tried to run it but it would not work.

Just wondering why you would want to go to Offical Firmware?

Anyway you could downgrade back to 1.50 then try updating to offical.

Follow this guide HERE to downgrade back to 1.50 using recovery folders. Use the 3.52 m33 guide for 3.40 OE-A.
