ok so i have a question concerning xbox live and networking.
i have 1 computer that is on my middle floor that has 2 wireless routers, different topic, for 1 for work and the other for all, then i have another computer with a usb network adapter about 65 feet away on the other side of the house, still on the same floor, but it has a few walls in between.
then i have my xbox in the basement almost directly below the 2nd computer. the xbox has the wireless adapter on it, and the connection i get is bad down there.
so i was wondering. would it be smart to but another modem and just put it in the basement using a cable outlet splitter and connect directly to xbox live via that? or should i also buy another modem and put them both downstairs? if i did the second one would i be able to connect to the computer upstairs? and if so would it also have a bad wireless connection?
yea they can only go so far man, it also depends on how much you are doing on that connection at the time. exe. both computers have users on the web, while you are playing halo. that is gonna make your games lag out. your best bet would be to run a cat5 to your basement where you could:
A: plug it directly into the back of your xbox.
or
B: run a cat5 in the basement, buy another wireless router, and run it wirelessly.
personally, i would just hardwire it.
