I know this has probably been answered 1000 times but i cant seem to find it. Im looking to mod my xbox 360 to backup my games. Is there any modchips that are available and if so where can i buy it from? I heard of opening it up yourself and flashing the dvd drive by computer but that seems like too much work for my little mind for right now. I also heard of the Xecuter's Blaster360 and was wondering is that the newest mod or are there newer or better ones. Are the modchips all together just fake advertisments? Another question is where could i buy it from if i wanted one? Last but not least is there a tutorial on how to install a modchip. Ive installed a couple before but this will be my first on a xbox 360 and if i do get a modchip will i still need to use my computer or will it work itself out. Sorry to be such a burden on all of you. PLEASEZ HELP

Go and get the textbook 2008 and read it then come back and ask about what you don't understand.

I understand the feeling that a modchip may be simpler if that's what you are familiar with but everyone on here will tell you that it's not the way to go. It's much more expensive to chip a 360 than it is to flash it. IMO chips for the 360 are out just like the psp when cfw came out or ps2 when mc exploits or the xbox, it just doesn't make sense to do more work and spend more money than you need to to achieve the same end result.

XBOX Halo Ed. = DuoX2 w/250gb HD
Xbox 360 Red Elite 120GB HDD = no-stealth 1.6 & XBReboot V3 & 1TB usb hdd
PS2 Slim = freemcboot v1.8 - PSP Black Slim = 5.00m33-6
Wii = w/ Blue XCM ii-case, Wiikey2 & softmodded

I would agree. Look up textbook's pdf file on flashing the 360 for noobs. It is really good. It has step by step pictures. Also, flashing would definitely be the way to go. If you're willing to learn how to do it (With textbook's guide, it is really easy to learn) then it would be the best choice.

You can reflash it back to it's original firmware if you want to.

I'll add in my $.02 and agree with the experienced fellas here, flash the drive. The biggest reason to flash instead of chip is if you kill the drive (which is unlikely anyway), just by a new drive, if you kill the board... buy a new 360.
