Hi guys,
Im considering buysing a Xbox 360, and I was looking around this forum to see the modding options available. I found that it can be softmodded through flashing the DVD drive. Now my question is whether there are some version of xbox360 that cannot be modded (newer version for example)?

yes especially newer versions that contain the lite-on dvd drive can't be modded. I believe these come out when the 60 gb models arrived.

I was planning to get the 60 GB model. So assuming that it cannot be flashed, is there anyway to run backups (modchips).
What are the best options?

as far as i know there isnt any way to play back up on this drive. But, im not sure and u should see if someone can confirm this.

You can try buying a 360 that you know for sure that has a drive that can be modded.

im buying it from a retailer, there's virtually no way to open it before buying. Getting it from online retailers is not an option for me.
