DNS error 80710102. help needed to get online

location- australia ps3- white 40gb
router- belkin n1 mimo wireless mode- router

when atempting to connect the ip address is always obtained and the connection is rarely obtained (if it is, it won't connect to PSN). When the connection isnt obtained the message says error 80710102 this is a DNS error.

The connection in my room(when i could always play perfectly online) was around 70-80%, and now ive moved it approximately 15meters away and about 2 or 3 meters upwards from the modem-router. the connection says 50-60%. Does anyone have any ideas to get around the DNS error obtain a connection? i can provide any details required...

Did you have this problem before moving the router?

nah i moved the ps3 15 meters furtehr from the router to a better tv the router stayed in the same spot. i never had troubles before i moved my ps3... i dont know why i wouldve changed because i didnt touch the settings..

Well even though 50-60% isn't drastically low it seems that it is the problem.

Sometimes moving the router or ps3 a foot or two can make the signal go up even 20% because where its at might go through a lot of solid objects or through a lot of wall beams, so try moving it around a little bit checking your signal strength in between.

Honestly for gaming it would be better to run a wired connection because it eliminates the latency caused by the wireless meaning less bullet lag and a strong unwavering connection.

Oh and there's an edit button on the top right of every post, it looks like a little piece of paper with a pencil.

ok thanks very much for that. i'll either give it a try or just forget about HD gaming and move it back to the old tv. haha.

now i have 75% on a closer tv and it still won't work? i dont think it is the signal strength.. yet the settings are the same as when it used to always work.

oh you changed rooms i didn't read all the posts i thought you moved it 2 or 3 feet

heres what you do.. move the HD TV into your room with the ps3 and bring your SD TV to your lounge so that everyone that watches it will suffer lol while your in your room playing high definition beauly.
