I've followed textbook's guide and was able to load the firmware on my BENQ/Phillips drive.
The problem now is whenever i try to play my backed up games on dvd+r DL (Ritek DVD+R DL), the xbox doesn't recognize it and says "unrecognize disc" please clean the disc or reboot the console.
I confirmed the .iso file has all layers and is iXtreme capable.
What am I doing wrong? Do i need to buy different disc?
-I'm able to play regular xbox360 games
-When i boot up, the console is still the same and it say 2.0.2 Crying or Very sad

Most recommend using Verbatim DL DVD+R made specifically in Singapore and not the ones made in India.
I use these and have not had any bad disks thus far.
XBOX Halo Ed. = DuoX2 w/250gb HD
Xbox 360 Red Elite 120GB HDD = no-stealth 1.6 & XBReboot V3 & 1TB usb hdd
PS2 Slim = freemcboot v1.8 - PSP Black Slim = 5.00m33-6
Wii = w/ Blue XCM ii-case, Wiikey2 & softmodded

I have to disagree with you CopperKid. Even if his disc was bad quality, I think it would at least attempt to load the game. I think the chances are you did not flash you firmware correctly and/or used the wrong firmware for your drive. I would go through again and double check to make sure you did everything right.

if the backup is wrong though you will get unrecognizable disc i mean when you flash a benq its pretty straight forward if you have done it correctly or not......
what program are you burning the backups with wrekk?

If you put a perfectly good backup in an unflashed drive you will get the unrecognizable disc. And flashing a drive isn't necessarily straight forward.

for a benq it is pretty much straight forward. make iprep usb stick, boot from stick, enter 2 command lines, reboot to windows, make sure it dumped a valid FW, adjust it if needed, reboot from usb stick, enter 2 more command lines, done, play copied games. doesnt get any more straight forward than that.

test ur burned game on someone else's 360 that you know is modded or get a burned game from someone and test it on ur 360. This will let you know if its the game or not that is the problem.
