i bought it from ebay, second hand in the uk.

i have checked the wii serial tracker and it says that my wii is...

Your Drive Chip is most likely GC2-D2B.

There is a 57% chance that the pins on your drive chip are not cut
and a 43% chance that that they are cut.

What are my best options regarding mod chip selection ?

i notice my model accepts the wiikey providing the pins havent been cut is this a good chip to go with ?

i would like somthing futureproof, do any members have any suggestions for me ?

If you got it second hand on Ebay I would check the drive itself incase it has been swaped out.

You might not have the drive that originally came with the Wii so following the serial# information may be pointless.

I am 99% sure it has the original drive, i am going to crack it open when i get my triwing screwdriver anyway so i will know for certain then...

but lets say it is the GC2 D2B chipset...

I take it the best modchip from reading this forum and others is the D2PRO and then the latest wasabi...
