Is it possible to use the LUA player on the psp slim running 3.71 M33-2, to play lua homebrew games?

I have been trying to play a few differnt games that are written in lua. I don't really understand what that means but by trying to learn about it it seems to be some sort of programing language for the psp which makes it easier to write games as opposed to writing them for the psp programing language. I think i am supposed to use the lua player that i have found here, http://luaplayer.org/staticpages/index.php?page=20070707032726120 . But there is not much support at this site for some one who knows as little as i do. I have tried running this player and i get an error message that i used to get when trying to run homebrews made for the "1.5 kernel" without the eLoader. I tried running the lua player through the eLoader to no avail. So i'm just wondering if lua games can only be played on the phat or is there somethin i can do?
