There are two tuners, on for recording, one for watching. I have one aerial. Is it possible for me to purchase some sort of splitter or signal reproducer, so that I can output two identical signals from my one source?

There will only be on aerial input, you will not need a splitter. The PlayTV. The system will have 2 internal tuners, and will work in the same way as a PVR/sky+ box.
