I transfered a quicktime vid I created into mpeg1 using tmpegenc.

It transfers just fine, but when I play it in a DVD player, the sides of the picture are cut off. The vid goes past the edge of the TV screen.

I've tried NTSC 1:1, 4:3, 4:3 704x480 and all of them are the same.

What am I not doing to get the entire picture on the TV screen?

Thanks for helping out a n00b!

Tmpgenc is not cutting the Sides off your Video it is your TV that is Cutting the sides off, This is Called "Overscan" and all TV"s Have it so you do not see the Jagged edges that is there when Displaying Interlaced Content on TV...Are you makeing a NTSC VCD or a Pal VCD??? For a NTSC VCD go to "Settings" to "Video Arrange Method" and set it to "Center Custom Size" then put the Size as 320+224, this Will Put a Boarder arround the Video so that the Overscan doesn"t cut off any of the Viewable Image, For Pal do the same thing but set it to "320+256"...good luck
