I recently loaded the Homebrew Channel via the SD Card but in the process, deleted a Zelda game with many hours of 'work' put into it. I downloaded some Zelda games from various levels in data.bin format and I'd like to be able to load some of them or any of them back onto my wii to get close to where the old game was.

My questions... First, can I load one of these games onto my wii without deleting/overwriting any information from the homebrew hack? Second, if this can be done, what is the best way to do it? I'm not too familiar with pulling information from the sd card with the wii (as can be seen with my deleted Zelda game) so I'm not sure if I have to load the data.bin file in a certain folder on the sd card or if there is any easier, dummy-proof way of doing this.

Thanks.
Jerry

If you are done installing the Homebrew channel then yes it is fine to delete the TP hack save file you transfered to the Wii.

Make sure the save file you download is the correct region game save.

You will then add this directory to the root of your SD card...

\private\wii\title\rzd?

The last letter depends on your region...

e - USA
j - Japan
p - PAL Region

After you have created those directories the data.bin file goes into the rzd? folder.

So the directory would be...

USA = \private\wii\title\rzde\data.bin
JAPAN = \private\wii\title\rzdj\data.bin
PAL = \private\wii\title\rzdp\data.bin

If you have the TP hack still on the SD card then the directories have already been created. All you will need to do is go to the last directory rzde/rzdj/rzdp that corresponds with your Wii region and overwrite the hacked TP data.bin file with the downloaded data.bin file.

Now place the SD card in Wii and go to Wii game save menu. Select the SD Card tab and copy the game save to the Wii (make sure you have the TP hack game save deleted or it will not let you copy the new game save over).

To transfer a game save from Wii to SD card do the following steps. Place SD card in Wii and go to the Wii game save menu. Select the Wii tab. Select the game save you want and select copy to transfer the game save from Wii to SD Card.

Is there a good site with Wii game saves out there, that would work with this method? Just curious.

Try this site HERE.

Click on Wii at the top left header bar and a drop down menu of games will come down.
