Hi guys. I used to own a psp back in the day and ran firmware on it until GTA came out and to play it you had to update the firmware via the umd. I took that psp to iraq the first time but it died. Now I have another one. I believe i still have the old style fat one as it came with lords of dogtown umd and the thin one is pretty new.However i am lost. Now ther are CSO's and ISO's and this ware and Pandora. I just want to do the shit I used to do with ISO's and a mem stick if thats still how its done. Any pointers. I can tell you the system software in settings says 2.82 Where should i start? I need idiot proof simple directions. When you leave this kind of stuff for a couple of years you might as well leave for 10 if you know what I mean. Thanks J2

I can get one easy enough. R you referring to swapping out the umd and using a loading program of some sort?

Try to get either any of those UMD. They also must be the unpatched one.

For GTA - You can use the 3.03 downgrader. Here is a guide

If none of these works ( or you cant get the UMD), use the Pandora Battery.

To downgrade (and get a custom firmware) or unbrick your PSP, you need the Pandora's Battery. There is three ways to get the Pandora Battery.

1. Find a someone who has a Custom Firmware that is willing to let you borrow their psp. You will use their psp to softmod the battery. Meaning using software to make the Pandora. If you willing to do this, follow this guide:

2. Hardmod the battery. Meaning that you have to open that battery up, and pulling out a pin. Note that if you pull the wrong one, your battery would be messed. If you are willing to do this, follow this guide

3. The most safest way, is to buy a premade pandora battery from the internet (use google or ebay).If so, follow this guide or use the same guide on the second step. I recommend buying from DealExtreme for $10.
