No$GBA V2.5 Joypad issues, Please help

Guys I currently have the no$gba v2.5 and have been trying to get my joypad to work with it. Its seems like its not reading it. Has anyone had this problem? If so, can anyone help me out please? Its kinda hard playing fighting games with the keyboard. :(
