I bought my grandson a PSP in Oct 2005. He never liked it, hardly played. Subsequently it sat in a drawer for over a year. About a month ago I decided to fool with it. No power. Bought a charger, same thing. Brought it to work, friend brought his working PSP in, swapped batteries, same thing.....green light for about 10 seconds, then nada, zilch. NEVER hacked it, changed firmware, flashed......nothing. Any thoughts what I can do
thanks

and did the mention anything about pandoras battery
if they didn't then thats what you need to recover it read sone of the tutorials on pandoras battery to get an idea of what it is and how to use it
if he/she did mention pandoras battery but they didnt do anything with the memory card then it would not recover it. In order for pandoras battery to work it needs special files on the memory card to make the psp boot, if there not there then it wont boot.
if they did swap the battery and the memory stick and atempted to recover it via pandoras battery then it may be another problem with the console.
though id suggest trying different version of magic memory stick makers Despertar del Cementerio v5 - v7 are worth trying out they should work

He is 10, was 8 when I bought it for him. Absolutely nothing was done to the PSP. Was turned off, put in a drawer for a longgggg time. Have no idea about Pandora's battery, or anything related to that. How it bricked is beyond me, is if possible for a psp to get bricked just sitting there? And, can I fix this without spending a fortune sending it out?

I appreciate all your help in this. The charger is lost, but I have an adapter to charge via usb to the charger input (not psp usb input), would that be ok?
