I am looking to build a new computer in the next couple months. Looking to actually get it finished by December (still have to save up some money), and was looking to get some advice on whether the parts I have selected with work together, and/or if you have any sugjections on whether I should Change something for another. I have a estimated budget of $900 bucks (not too much more than that). I am a gamer at heart, looking to do some of the new Diablo that is comming out, starcraft 2, I love Cod4, don't really like crysis played on my cousins computer and seemed really boring. Ok so here are the parts I have come up with:
Because my aunt has a good connection with Amazon, I will be able to get an excelent discount on these computer parts, so overall the price is approximetly $760.00. My main concern is if the PSU is going to be ok to run the 4870, or if I should look into a larger one. Also if that is an ok mobo, I am not looking to do any OC at all.
that dvd burner is expensive, you can spen half that amount for a decent burner. you dont need 750watts. a nice 650 corsair will be more than enough and $50 cheaper. why would you only get 2gb? ram is so cheap it would be stupid not to get more. i would chose a gigabyte motherboard over that asus one, but that is just my opinion. if you are looking for crossfire you dont want a p45 board. an x48 is the best way to do it. why would you spend $180 on a case with a $900 budget? get a cheaper case and a faster cpu. the e8500 is only $20 more so it would be a great deal. i would also go for a 64bit os. you will be able to use more than 4gb of ram.
If you looked at the bottom of the post it shows I can get all of those components for $760.00. Thats why I got the more pricey case, because I have heard great things about that case. So what your saying is upgrade to more ram, get the e8500 cpu, a corsair650w psu, I do not want to go crossfire one card is going to be plenty for me. Why do you wan't me to get a 64bit os? Are many applications/component drivers/games be compatible with the 64bit os. Sorry if that sounds somewhat argumentative, im just trying to figure out the os change, the others I can understand. thanks again for your advice, I will update my first post after revising the parts.
if you can get the antec 1200 for a good price then go ahead and get it. it is a great case. i suggested vista 64 because it will allow you to use more than 4gb of ram. 32 bit is stuck at 4gb and with other components install it is usually around 3.5gb of ram. the biggest advantage is you can upgrade your memory without having to buy a new os. also it has better performance in some things. i have also heard some people say that it is more responsive than 32bit. but the downside is some devices dont have good drivers.

HDD: Outstanding
GPU: Outstanding
PSU: Good (loud, I had one)
RAM: OK (I'm a bit wary of OCZ memory)
M/B: Good
CPU: Very Good
Cooler: Good
Keyboard: Excellent (only the newer G15 is worth having)
Mouse: Good (Laser mice are not as good for gaming as opticals)

I agree with Krj's point about the expensive case for cheap build, but if you like it and can get it cheap, then all well and good...
