What's happening RTM.
We're going to get rained on all weekend up here. Yay. My yard needs rain, but not three days of it. ;)

Yup, me to. Ike is on his way, beaten down the doors as we speak. Should be here around 1 am sometime tomorrow. RTM, you got lucky bro, Ike could have hit Corpus.

Yeah, haven't had a major one since early '80's. Winds will be up around 50mph, but that's just a slight breeze down here!!

I know Texas is large, but have you looked at the cloud cover of the storm...it takes up almost all of the gulf.

Once the storm passes should be some good fishing!!
Only bad thing about the hurricane (besides the storm itself) is all those crazies wanting to surf in the storm. Can't y'all califorians stay on your side of the country!!

***UPDATE***
I'm watching a live feed from Galveston right now and there are people still there! Everyone is standing near the seawall watching the waves crash over it - seawall is 17' high! There is already mass flooding everywhere. These people are nuts!
GTFO Mate!!

Yep, still a Cat 2 and I don't think the wind is the threat, but rather the storm surge/flooding etc. This Ike is huge and is pushing a lot of water and as it moves inland it's going to drop an a$$load as well.

Go to Fox News and up at the top under, "breaking news", they should have a link to some feeds. Check it out man, it's pure insanity!

Actually, they will get it from the front and back. As the storm moves in, a few days later they will get hit with more flooding, as they are in the flood plain. All the water only has one way to flow back into the gulf....back thru galveston bay.
Here is a link to some of the webcams from Houston.
