At some point wii connect24 got turned on and it updated to 3.3U and I was then unable to play my backups with the wiikey. I recently downgraded it to 3.2U via the Waninkoko downgrader. When I restarted my wii and tried to play a backup it didn't work. Any suggestions?

That is correct. My Wii fails to recognize any backup discs. I can't imagine what is causing the issue. I did a very clean install. I had the chip in there for over a year now with no issues whatsoever.

Have you updated your chip to 1.9s?

The chip is currently up to date with 1.9s. I installed it as soon as it came out, it was already up to date when the issues started.

At this point, I just want to know if there is anything I can do to resolve this. Otherwise I'm probably going to buy another chip if it seems like the best course of action. I am worried that something else is wrong and if I got a new chip it wouldn't work.

I'm thinking about getting the wiikey again with the wiiclip. Would you guys recommend the D2Cpro over this? I know that it is now compatible with D2B chip sets now.

I would first try downloading the recovery disc for Wiikey (You can find a copy of that in the Ultimate Sticky thread under Wiikey Resources). Then update to 1.9s again and see if that fixes your issue.

If you still have an issue I would go with a D2Pro9 with Wii-Clip.

D2CPro is not compatible with D2B chipsets.

I've already tried using the recovery disc, but that didn't work. Though I didn't try sticking in the 1.9s update disc again. I'll try that and let you know. I have a feeling that it won't read it either. From what I've told you, if this doesn't work I should conclude that my chip is dead?

Yup, still no response. The wii simply refuses to read any discs. So you think it must be the chip?

I have the same problem as you. My Wii after applying the 3.3 update has failed to read any backups since but works great with original disks. It was running backups and originals before the 3.3 update. So I tried every WiiKey config disk I could find to try and fix my WiiKey with no joy.

So I replaced the WiiKey and my Wii is still the same. Even tried using Gecko to launch them. It may just be my installation or a faulty chip. Please post if you have any success with your own. If you do. I will have another look at my Wiikey installatiion.

Thanks
