Hi,

I have been given camcorder recording on a disc which is a mov file.

I have been asked to remove 33 seconds of a speech from this disc. How do i convert this dvd file, assuming i need to and 'cut' the offending 33 seconds.

Apologies if this is in the wrong section, and thanks in advance for any advice.

I have limited exposure to .mov files, but I think MpegStreamclip can open them.
'File' => 'Open Files' to load.
Use the slider to go to the start of the offending part hit the "i" key, continue to the end of the part and hit "o" key.
To remove that part use 'Ctrl+x' (to keep that selected part of the video - and discard the rest - you would use 'Ctrl+t').
'File' => 'Export.....' to save.

The problem with this, is that I think the file is re-encoded - with a loss of quality.
As I say, I don't have much experience with these files - an alternative would be to use an Avisynth script and VirtualDub (maybe).
