i have d2pro9.
i only had about 12 back-up US games.. and they all work fine.
but today, i got a japanese back-up game (my first one) and when i load the game, the screen goes blank then nothing.
no error message or upgrade message or nothing... the screen just goes blank like sleep or energy save mode.
i thought modchips let you play region-free?
or am i totally missing something?
do i have to do anything like applying patch to play different region back-ups?
when i insert the disk, i see the game in the game channel.. but when i start it, this happens.

Ok i never had to resolve this issue i might be able to shed some light on it,
There is region jumpers on it but if they arent brideged the D2PRO9 sets what region it is upon insertion of the first game when it is loaded up. i.e your first game loaded is US region the chips region is set to US,

Ok im just guessing here but try and download the utiliy disc http://www.d2pro.com/resources.html
this updates the D2PRO9 but also erases the flash, this may reset the region to blank? insert the game you want to play.

let me know how you get on im curious
