Wii Modchip Problem 3.3U

Dear Forum,

My brother has a 3.3U Wii modded with a modchip. Originally he could have played any game except for SSBB and Mario Kart Wii. I took apart his Wii today trying to figure out his modchip and it doesn't match up with any modchip that is sold today. The modchip looks like a computer ram chip with 10 points and it says on the chip "Wii Bel." I tried updating with Wiikey 1.9s and also OpenWii 2.4 and now it would not run his Wii backup games at all. He can still play his GC games and backups however. His Wii was originally modded in Hong Kong and he may have to go there to have it fixed.

Please help.
