Is my PSP Slim Battery Faulty?

I have a PSP Slim running 4.01 M33-2.

I only bought it last week I have had to charge my battery 4 times since then. I have the backlight on the lowest setting and the volume completely off and still I dont get alot of battery life out of it.

I am playing Wall-E.

Is there a chance my battery is faulty or is this normal?

Also if I were to take the PSP back would they just replace the battery or would they give me a completely new console?

Not sure if this makes a difference but I have PSP 2003 model I have had a slim psp before and do not remember it being this bad Im sure I got a good few hours out of it before needing a charge.

What do you guys think I should do?

Any help asap would be appreciated as I would like to take it back tomorrow If I have to

Tell its your battery isnt good. Try using the battery until there is no more energy left ( when the warning battery icon shows up). Then charge it.

Was this always like this when you bought it ?

Hi,
I only bought it on the 6th of Sept 08 so its not that old.

I phoned up argos and they blamed me for charging the battery as soon as i got home but I just followed the book that sony provided which tells you to charge it before use.

When you first get your PSP, you suppose to charge it for 6 hours or so first. If not, then the battery wont be as good

If thats the case why doesnt the book state this?

I played it last night until the battery icon came on and it died I timed it and I got about 4 hours from it.

I am going to test it again tonight and if I get the same I wont bother returning it.

I have purchased 2 Slim Batteries off ebay so hopefully they will last longer. Any suggestions on charging these so I get the maximum capability from them.
