Hey AD! I'm going to cut to the point and just say I'm looking for confirmation on the situation of my Slim PSP, and the information on what I would need to do to install a GBA emulator on it successfully. I know you can 'unbrick' PSPs now after the Sony leak, but I'd honestly rather not go through the hassle. Fortunately I used common sense and read every helpful guide your site had to offer. I've read the instructions clearly and have a solid understanding of what's needed to be done to install the programs onto the PSP. My only issue is I'm slightly misguided on the type of PSP I have and the correct run-around I'll need to do to install custom firmware, once I have that set, I can handle the rest and it will be smooth sailing. I'm not too keen on external devices connected to a computer(especially a PSP), but I have slightly advanced knowledge of computers in a general sense.

I'm not sure what you'll need to know about my PSP, so just let me know if you need anything else and I'll get it ASAP.
System software:Version 3.80
The PSP was bought about 2-3 weeks ago, September 9th I believe.(PSP slim Daxter package) I got it for the goodies and family guy.
I did read something in one of the guides about a 'Pandora battery'.
I'm not sure if that's required, if so, I basically don't plan on getting one and that would be that, and I would just have to deal with it.
If I can still put custom firmware on the PSP, just give me the link to the guide and any precautious or instructions I'll need that the guide wouldn't offer. I appreciate the time taken to assist the issues we all have and I give sincere thanks.

You can't install CFW on a slim psp without the use of a pandora/service/tool type battery that puts the psp into service mode.

Then you need to have a magic memory stick or despertar cementerio memory stick that will install the cfw once it's in service mode.

Since you don't want to buy the battery I suggest looking on craigslist for a modder who would do it for you. Shouldn't be more than 20 bucks but the average I've seen is 10 bucks.

XBOX Halo Ed. = DuoX2 w/250gb HD
Xbox 360 Red Elite 120GB HDD = no-stealth 1.6 & XBReboot V3 & 1TB usb hdd
PS2 Slim = freemcboot v1.8 - PSP Black Slim = 5.00m33-6
Wii = w/ Blue XCM ii-case, Wiikey2 & softmodded

Will I have to do the same thing if I wanted to place PSX games on the PSP as well? With the Pandora battery and what not.

You can buy certain ps1 games from the psn but if you want to dl a ps1 game then yes you still need to be on CFW and using an app called popsloader.
