It seems that many users of Nero's InCD are experiencing problems. I also have had many problems when I purchased a new 52x24x52x CD-RW drive which included bundled Nero software.
My system is Windows 98se,amd k6-500, 4g hdd, 384mb ram.
Nero Burning Rom worked with out a hitch. But problems too numerous to mention plaged InCD. So I reinstalled my old Plextor and Adaptec Easy CD software and was able to do packet writing with it, and use Nero B/R as well...the 2 apps coexisted.
After doing all the removal and re installs etc.....I really liked InCD when it worked !
For the times InCd did work, I really liked the ability to format a CD-RW disk very fast [MRW 2 minutes] compared to 90 minutes w/EasyCD. I decieded to try InCD once more.
But this time I had a brainstorm, I bought new 10x-24x Ultra Speed CD-RW disks. I had been using 4x CD-RW disks which were purchased around 1999. It may be to soon to say for sure if the Ultra speed disks are the reason for InCD to now run with out hanging and crashing my system. So far so good and with pluses as well. Using InCD v.3 worked well, but I downloaded InCD v.4, and there are improved functions when right clicking on the CD-RW drive's icon in Windows explorer. The whole new package is slicker and runs smoother than v.3. No more disks hanging when you go to eject. I have even used a disk that was formatted with EasyCD and copied, sent to and deleted files to with out any problems.
I thought this info may help some one that were having similar probs with InCD. It might be worth a shot.
