Hey Everyone,

I have been using DVDSHRINK for a long time and understand how to burn DVD's.

What I am trying to understand now, is once the original dvd is ripped and the files are sitting in the folder on the computer's harddrive, HOW can I play the ripped files and watch the movie without having to burn it to a dvd?

Not sure if that makes sense...

Basically what I want to do is play the movie files that have been ripped form the original dvd and are sitting in the folder on the harddrive.

Can I just click one of the files and it will open up in windows media player or something like that?

I have tried to double-click the .vob files in the past and I am only able to watch one file at a time. Is this the only way I can watch the movie that was ripped? Or is their a program that will play EVERY FILE so I don't have to keep double-clicking on each and every .vob file?

Any and all help is appreicated.

Thanks!

To add to 1bonehead's advice, not only is VLC the way to go, it's most recently updated. Enjoy.

Alternative method:
Download Daemon Tools (simple and free).
Use Shrink to rip your movie to an .ISO on your hard drive.
"Mount" your .ISO using Daemon Tools, which means you will have loaded your .ISO to "virtual" drive just like it were a DVD disc.
Play on the default DVD player currently on your computer.

@Pestigo

If he uses dvd shrink to convert his files to iso, he can play the iso directly with WMP. He won't need to use daemon tools.

The .ISO file extension isn't automatically recognized by WMP. You can "force" WMP to play an .ISO file. In WMP click File>Open. Browse to where your .ISO is located. In the drop down box you will only see the supported files so you will have to choose "all files". Now you will see your .ISO. When you click your .ISO from the list you get the message "not recognized...blah, blah...try to play it anyway?". Click yes. The file will play but you may or may not have any menu functionality.
