Are you multitasking while trying to burn ? If so , burn only w/o the multitasking.

What is your technic to burn and as sCrEwZ says what program are you using to burn, what (dvd) are you trying to burn. How did you get the files to the hdd. Any more info you can provide is helpful.

I downloaded a movie and converted it using AVi2DVD, then I tried (as per instructions) to decrypted the DVD I have tried both ImgBurn 2.4.2.0 - which says something like "there a no devices detected" - and also DVD decrypter (lightening UK) - whcih says the DVD drive is locked or unfound - so neither have worked. The DVD I have been using to burn onto is: imitation DVD-R 16x (4.7GBD).

I am not sure how to unlock or find the DVD drive. Also I am using a laptop at the moment and unsure of the type of drive (but it does play DVDs)

You may have only a dvd player on your laptop and not a burner. This may be your problem. Have you ever burned a dvd on your laptop before ?

Imgburn can give us all the information we need. Open Imgburn in read mode and copy/paste the information from the right pane here in this thread.

Being a laptop, if you have usb v2 ports, the easiest way is to purchase an external dvd burner (preferably a dual layer capable). If the burner can burn dvds, it can burn cds as well. My favotite brand for externals as well as internals is Liteon. Replacing your internal burner may cost more than a good external burner.
