I live in qatar and i am getting my wii modified here to play backup
but the seller himself doesnt know what type of chip it is .
Is there anyway i can know if it will play downloaded games.

does it mean that any modchip will play downloads or maybe it will only play copy from the seller i know it sounds dumb but i am totally new to this

Any genuine modchip will play backups (unless it's not designed for that. Always check the specs before buying).

But you need the right modchip for your chipset, as certain chips only support certain chipsets.
