Hello guys
I got a 360 20gb, no HDMI) with a Toshiba-Samsung drive (http://pictures.xbox-scene.com/xbox360/dvd/TS-HLG.jpg the one on the left)
Whats the best way to flash my drive?
I've read a lot of things, but can't decide which method to use.
Is it possible to softwaremod this 360?
Can anyone hook me up with a good guide to softwaremod it?
I'm totally new to this 360-section, atm i'm only modding Wii's, psp's,and ps2's.
thx in advance

dude, you definitely need to search for questions, such as this, which have been answered tons of time
but the best guide to use would be textbook's guide to flashing the 360.
It will tell you exactly what you need to do. I followed that step by step when first learning, and it worked great.
and yes, it would be a software based mod because you would be performing a firmware flash on the dvd drive.

Yes I know mate, but i'm always afraid that i'm following a wrong guide :)
So after this 'flash' I would be able to play backups on my 360 without any chip installed?
thx again for your help

I haven't looked at ps2menace's guide, i assume it probably works great. I can recommend the textbook guide though. That is what I used multiple times for each drive and it worked great.
And yes, once you flash your drive using this method, you would not need a mod chip. You would then be able to play your backups.
