Hi, I live in the US and I'm interested in getting the swap magic discs and flip top for my old fat PS2 to play games off the hard drive. This'll be my first time doing this, but if I've got this right, I'll be using the swap discs for installing HD Loader and later on the independence exploit, so I don't have to use the swap discs every time I want to play off the hard drive.
First, is buying/owning the swap magic discs and flip top illegal in the US? Wikipedia says it might violate the DMCA, but after a lot of searching I can't get a good answer on that. What about the rest of you who live here? Did you have any problems buying these things?
Assuming it's not illegal, where should I buy this stuff? A good, reliable place that won't rip me off. Preferably they should sell both the discs and the flip top so I can get them in one package, but if they have to be bought at separate sites, that's okay too.
Last question, is there a good place to buy the network adapter except on amazon/ebay?
Hi again, well after your reply I did some research. I think I will go with Free Mcboot, but one thing puzzles me, I did read somewhere that by using ESR to patch PAL backups (I'm NTSC) you could play them off the hard drive. That's not true?
