After much searching and a hell of a lot of reading i still cannot dump my firmware. According to some tutorials the 07x message (or something like cant remember what it said now) means it cannot listen or hear on that port i have tried the on off on trick at 2 second intervals to no avail. My chipset is via 8237 am i doing something wrong????? please can someone point me in the right direction i am not stupid but am beggining to feel it. Samsungs and hitachi's never gave me this problem i am going grey please help

hey i had this same problem I would try changing ports and cables and make sure you have the serial cable plugged in your optical drive, on your xbox.

Here's what I did with a VIA 6241

Plugged the BENQ into the primry sata port and turned the 360 on.
Used Dosflash 1.3 and typed in the following commands
DosFlash r d400 1 a0 1 4 A:orig.bin
It asks to resend commands, say yes
Turn 360 off
Turn 360 back on after a count to 2

Thats pretty much it. I went old school and used the dos dosflash and not the windows version and it works everytime.

Note that the d400 was my port. Yours will be different.

To write back to the drive you must first erase it or you will get a ton of write errors.

To erase in dosflash 16
DosFlash e d400 1 a0 1 4 D8

To write :
DosFlash w d400 1 a0 1 4 A:ixtreme.bin

thanxs ps2 menace funny you should mention dosflash as i have been looking into it today i originally did not want to go down that road but cheers man you actually made it sound a lot simpler than some of the tut's i have been looking at. Honestly i have not slept properly all week samsungs are a piece of cake with iprep even spoofing i will give it a go tommorrow. Oh and ace27 that would be a rookie mistake wouldn't it
