Hello,
I've got a 3.3E Wii with a Wiikey. I bought a retail SSBB, wich couldnt be played. So i read on the internet en saw a trick how you can play it. First you need to run the 1.9B install disc en pull out the plug at 70%. It worked, the backups were unplayeble and SSBB worked.
But since then, when i insert a game, the wii 'eats' the game, then put it out a bit, eats it again and just throw the game out of the wii. If the wii is off(red light) I can normally enter a disc, and sometimes while it is on.
My biggest problem is the next step fromthe trick: getting backups to work again. I needed the recovery 1.9B disc, I burned it and tried several methods, but nothing works! Please help!

have you followed the instructions exactly as they appear here? Is is spitting out all the games or just backups? do back ups ever work?

I still play my wii, just not as much. Gave my PSP to my son.

Firmware 1.9s fixed the SSBB issue.
Try using the recovery disc. Then update to 1.9s.

I've tried to use the recovery disc, but if the recovery disc works, can you already play backups, or do you need to do the 1.9s first for backups to work?

1.9s fixes the SSBB issue. Obviously it played backups before that.
Upgrading your firmware may both fix your botched 70% thing, as well as allow you to play SSBB.

There have been some reports of users botching the Wiikey up beyond repair using the trick you did above.
So if recovering the Wiikey via recovery disc doesn't work you could have screwed up the Wiikey permanently.

What have you got to lose if you try to run the update? either it won't recognize the disk or it'll fix your problem. I don't see how it can make anything worse.

I still play my wii, just not as much. Gave my PSP to my son.
