I bought a PSP cheap. Got it home tried to play a game. The PSP spun the cd, the laser went back and forth and even went up and down to focus. Only problem was that the laser didn't light up red. I bought a new laser assembly and replaced my old one. It is doing the same thing. What seems to be the problem. Is the motherboard bad. Ive checked all the connections and cables numerous times. Someone help me if you can.

did you buy a new laser or entirely new Chasity?

I bought the entire laser assembly. Removed the 4 bolts that held mine in and replaced with new new assembly.
