I just now discovered that the Gecko is necessary to do some aspects of homebrew applications on a modded wii, but i am wondering exactly what that is...

What CANT i do on a modded wii that i CAN do with a Gecko adapter?

And i read something about "no limit to storage" on a Gecko... is this true? If i have a 4gb sd card, will the wii recognize it through the Gecko?

Why cant i just plug the sd card in the front of the unit w/no adapters and use it for the very same purpose then i can through the Gecko adapter?
