I have received a modded xbox with everything included except a hard drive. I found a hard drive and checked the compatibility and it was good. I have no idea where to go from here. Please help.

Your best bet is to get an installer disk like AID, or Slayers auto installer. plug your hdd into box put disk in and boot up xbox, once done go to eeprom back up menu and back up your eeprom. then run the CONFIG MAGIC. update your eeprom to hdd and xbox once that is done the hdd is now one with yor xbox, you can now install dash board and any app's you feel you ned. let me know how you get on.

i've downloaded aid and burnt to disk(with no errors) when i put it in xbox nothin happens. Should it boot on my working hard drive. Not sure what to do try burning disk again or what???

DO NOT MESS WITH CONFIG MAGIC... I can't stress that enough. YOU WILL BRICK YOUR MOTHERBOARD!!!

Does the xbox have a chip fitted? If it doesn't and isn't TSOP flashed then you have been burned.

How did you burn the installer and what to? Does the box show the usual startup display with no errors?

Not sure if it is chipped but is definitely modded. Heres the full story
The xbox is modded with a standard harddrive. I was hoping to upgrade to a bigger harddrive and was trying to use aid4.3 to assist. I d/l aid and followed instruction to burn including using the iso updater and then the suggested 'DVD decrypter' have burnt twice now once at 4x speed and once at 1x speed both do nothin in xbox. Is it possble my blank DVD is the wrong type?? I also have another modded xbox(aladin chip) with a 120gb hard drive in which I tried the disks in and still no go. Any suggestions?????????
