I disabled my Wii key (cut it's power supply) just before Smash Bros Brawl came out cuz I heard there's a problem with the mod chip... That it wouldn't be able to read the game if it was burned or whatever.
Anyway, I've stayed off of the internet with my Wii and have avoided updating (except for the one that came with Smash Bros Brawl). Can anyone tell me if I'll fuck up my Wii if I take it online nowadays? I don't intend to ever hook up the Wii Key again, I just wanna have access to the channels again.
Please if possible, give the simplest answer you can. Thanks in advance. Ask if you need more info I'll try to answer best I can.
I'm not sure why you disconnected your modchip, the glitch that the wiikey had with brawl was fixed within days of the game's release.
And there's no reason you cant go online with the wii with your chip disabled. For that matter, there's no reason you cant go online with the chip enabled either. Backup copies of games work just fine online, and all online features work perfectly even with a modchip installed.
