You do have a problem because once youve backed up your iphone (right clicking on your iphone on the computer) you need to restore then once you restore your iphone, you will need to update onto a new firmwire and you will get less stuff to do on a 2.1 jailbroken iphone. Since there are less sources and apps made for the cydia and installer apps.

MacBook (Black, 2.4Hz, 2Gb Memory, 250Gb Hard Drive), iPhone 1st Gen. (2G), iPhone 2nd Gen. (3G), iPhone 3rd Gen. (3G S), iMac (2.4GHz, 20-inch, Intel Core 2 Duo, 1Gb Memory, 250Gb Hard Drive, Built in iSight Camera), Dell Studio 17 (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, Built in 2mp Cam, ATI Radeon HD 3650), PSP Slim 2003 (Thinking of Clearcase with SMT LEDs), PS3 80Gb, Xbox 360 Elite (Thinking of Arcrylic Window with LEDs)
PS2 (Modded with 18-inch fan and 10-inch blue cathode)
Toshiba Laptop (18-inch, Intel Pentium 4, ATI Graphics Card and WinXP)

You should try this tool it will help you transfer all your ipod music to itunes or a pc and then you just need to sync the second ipod. its pretty cool because it copies all your songs, videos, podcasts, etc, without erasing what you already have both on itunes and your ipod. I've used for a year already and I really like it. Give it a try.
